Director Dylan Mitro and artist Quarterback had envisioned creating a video for the single ‘Cheerleader’ and were able to bring that vision to life with the assistance of the MVP Grant.
On the surface, “Cheerleader” is an overt display of High Fashion and Hyper-Confidence and High Energy packaged as a sports game halftime show.Below this surface, this video showcases what this song is really about; Quarterback’s fragility with a bruised ego and their search for constant unrelenting validation from his peers.

Full of high energy choreography, tricks, backflips and full body contact. Toxic positivity never looked so good. The video is based around the idea of “training for confidence” by building up the armor one needs to face the world head on. We want the video to feel like the super bowl for freaks. With Quarterback being served the same energy a Quarterback Baby receives in a football game when running onto the field. The fandom, the pressure, the spotlight. The entire video takes place on a sports field, reclaiming this space that is typically flooded with toxic masculinity. Giving the Queer community this space that they historically have been pushed out of due to homophobia. Giving them this space to dance and hype each other up. The powerful queer energy that only gets stronger with a community to share it with, building a confident army of outsiders.
